Job Description
- Runs and manages grids and daily reports including timecard audits, efficiency reports, and others, as needed to ensure proper job time and standards management.
- Oversees payroll tracking for assigned employees.
- Oversees timely cycle counts and works with the Planners to ensure accurate counts are updated. Also contacts the Planning group when stock levels in ERP do not coincide with actual inventory on the shelves.
- Creates and sends NCRs to appropriate departments for nonconformances identified on product in Fabrication. Investigates NCRs for nonconformances that originated in Fabrication processes. Adds Rework operations in M1 for in-department NCRs.
- Works with Engineering team to resolve design variances for work in process and suggest improvement for future builds.
- Fixture locations are set up using an approved labeling methodology and maintained.
- Creates and maintains work instructions for all processes in the Fabrication Department.
- Supports continuous improvement and LEAN efforts.
- Demonstrates the Caldwell Company Values in all work activities.
- Ensures a clean and safe work environment. Ensures defective tools and equipment are removed from service and repaired or replaced.
- Enforces all safety rules and regulations.
- Issues Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
- Delivers or arranges for all safety required safety training and re-training.
Minimum Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certificate from a technical school in welding or mechanical applications desired but not required
Minimum Work Experience
- Five years administration management
- One year continuous improvement exposure
Minimum Skill Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Proven problem identification and problem solving skills, using other departments, including Engineering, as necessary to address problems
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with individuals in various departments and levels.
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools
- Overhead crane certification
- Forklift certification
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Work environment can be hot or cold, depending on season.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand. The employee frequently is required to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and engage in repetitive use of hands. The employee occasionally must bend; reach overhead; crouch; kneel; push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds; and talk and listen.
