A new and improved design on a long-established customer favorite can be hard to achieve. Making something that's already great just a little better is, in fact, harder than it seems. But when the Caldwell engineering and manufacturing teams put the users of their best-selling Tea Cup Pipe Carriers at the forefront of the design process, good things happen.
"Our goal was to make a pipe carrier that was pretty simple and elegant to start with even better. What we ended up with was a piece of BTH lifting equipment that was lighter, smoother and included CE markings," said Caldwell President Doug Stitt. "Lighter matters to the guys on the ground who are performing multiple lifts a day. Every ounce adds up when your day is filled with repetitive motions, physical jobs, and challenging environments. Plus, the new cast fabrication eliminates the welded connections of handle to body, which just makes handling the unit so much easier. And, of course, clearly visible CE markings ensure easy compliance checks to increase job-site safety," Stitt added.
The improved Tea Cup pipe picks have a lifting capacity of 18 tons and are available in two styles, Model PC and Model PC Low-Profile. Within each style, there are two sizes, for use with 3/4" and 1" wire rope respectively. All units meet or exceed ASME standards.
