The Caldwell Group has been manufacturing high-quality lifting equipment since 1954. It is our goal to manufacture long-lasting products that will continue to increase productivity in a safe and efficient manner. Because lifting slings vary so much in size (large or small, heavy or light, bulky or fragile), their applications are virtually unlimited. Our synthetic slings can lift items that require careful handlings, such as expensive machinery, highly finished parts, and fragile loads. Our Wire Mesh, Rope, and Chain Slings are capable of handling pipe, steel, wood, or any unfinished item.
Standard Web Slings
Caldwell® lifting slings are made from nylon or polyester lifting yarn that is woven into various widths and thicknesses. Sling webbing has its surface yarns connected from side to side, which not only protects the core yarns but positions all surface and tensile yarns to work together to support the load. Caldwell offers both heavy-duty and medium-duty webbing, which are approved by the WSTDA and ASME (standard B30.9).
Special Application Web Slings
Caldwell® manufactures different web slings for application found throughout the construction, automotive, military and manufacturing industries. Cargo Slings, Bridle Slings; Drum Handling, Pipe Lifting Slings, and Wheel Nets are all different types of special applications that are designed for specific applications.
Round slings are constructed of an endless loop of 100% polyester fiber. The multiple fiber construction makes the round sling soft and flexible, conforming easily to almost any load surface. Additionally, these endless round slings can be constantly rotated, further extending the sling’s wear life. Caldwell® supplies endless round slings, as well as eye and eye round slings.
Wire Rope Slings
Wire Rope Slings are the most common and inexpensive slings. Caldwell® Wire Rope Slings provide the strength and sturdiness required for lifting even the toughest loads. Used in the construction industry and other industries where heavy loads and rugged conditions exist, Caldwell® supplies standard combinations, sliding choker, and bridle slings.
Alloy Chain Slings
Caldwell® provides superior Alloy Chain Slings that facilitate easy handling and durability. Alloy chains are often used in environments with severe lifting conditions, such as foundries, steel mills, and heavy machining operations. Chain slings provide the longest sling life in the conditions commonly seen in these environments. Caldwell® supplies single, double, triple, and quadruple chain slings, as well as our new “Adjust-A-Link” for easy adjusting and versatile assembly.
Wire Mesh Slings & Cargo Tie Downs
Caldwell® Wire Mesh Slings resist abrasion and cutting for greater sling life while allowing low stretch and high flexibility to reduce any load damage. Our wire mesh slings have alloy steel end fittings. They are zinc plated to resist corrosion, resulting in a longer sling life. Each sling is tested and certified.
Caldwell® Cargo Tie-Downs can satisfy just about every cargo-securing requirement, heavy or lightweight, bulky or small, and transported by truck, rail, airplane, or forklift. High-strength webbing is available in a number of widths from 1” to 4” and tensile strengths from 1,000 to 20,000 lbs.

Caldwell Upholds to Industry Standards
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) has developed standards that apply specifically to the devices Caldwell® designs. ASME B30.20 provides detailed information on the classifications, marking, construction, installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and operation of below the hook lifting devices. ASME BTH-1 provides detailed information on the design criteria of below the hook lifting devices. ASME B30.9 provides detailed information on the fabrication, markings, usage, inspection, and maintenance of lifting slings. These standards serve as a guide to government authorities, manufacturers, purchasers and users of lifting devices.
