Position Type: Full Time | Pay Range: Min $77,053 - Mid $96,317 - Max $115,580 | Job#: 2025-30This position is critical in preventing workplace accidents, ensuring legal compliance, and promoting a safe and sustainable work environment by acting as the company’s representative in dealing w/safety inspections and audits from regulatory agencies, addressing any violations or concerns raised by audits and expert resources; developing, implementing, and maintaining the safety manual, policies, and procedures; and driving to promote and support plant and corporate compliance w/all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and requirements as defined by, not limited to, EPA, OSHA, and NIOSH.Job Duties:Creates & implements policies, procedures, and programs that support the Company’s health, safety and environmental expectations. Maintains and updates HSE documentation, permits, and compliance recordsUpdates safety protocols based on industry standards and emerging trendsIdentifies potential hazards in the workplace through near miss investigations, regular audits, and feedback from employees. Implement mitigation strategies to minimize risks and ensure employee safetyInvestigate workplace accidents, incidents, or near misses to identify the root cause. Develop reports and implement changes to prevent future occurrencesOrganizes and conducts safety training sessions for all employees and supervisors to ensure employees are trained in proper safety protocols, equipment use and emergency proceduresPartners w/HR to maintain detailed records of safety incidents, inspections, and training activities. Submits required reports to regulatory agencies and company managementDevelops, implements and maintains emergency response plans and procedures. Coordinates regular emergency drills, such as fire or evacuation drills, to identify gaps in employee preparednessFosters a culture of safety awareness throughout the organization. Encourages employees to participate in safety programs and report any unsafe conditionsEvaluate and update safety training, customizing where needed for different job roles and risk levels. Gathers feedback and updates training based on effectiveness and compliance requirementsMaintains safety equipment, such fire extinguishers, PPE (personal protective equipment) and first aid kits, are regularly inspected and maintained. Also ensures proper use of safety equipment by employeesManages health and environmental safety issues, including waste disposal and chemical handlingMonitors noise, air quality, and other environmental hazards. Implements required fixes and/or PPE, when out of complianceLeads and directs the safety committee to maximize the positive impact of safetyDemonstrates the Caldwell Company Values in all work activitiesComplies with and enforces all safety rules and requirementsMinimum Education:Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or a related fieldCertify Safety Profession (CSP, Occupational Health & Safety Technologist (OHST), or equivalent certified preferredFirst Aid & CPR/AED certifications
