Caldwell has announced the addition for an XME Laser Cutter to its Rockford, Illinois, facility. Sourced from Italian engineering firm Cutlite Penta, this state-of-the-art machine is set to enhance Caldwell’s manufacturing precision, efficiency, and automation.
The XME Laser Cutter offers advanced capabilities for processing thicker plates of parent metal with outstanding accuracy. By eliminating the need for secondary operations such as grinding or additional machining steps, the XME streamlines production and delivers clean, precise cuts directly from the laser. This innovation also supports slot and tab fit-ups for thicker components, facilitating simultaneous designs that yield stronger products while reducing manufacturing time.
According to Caldwell, the XME is a pivotal step forward in its automation strategy. By improving workflow efficiency and reducing turnaround times, the machine ensures faster, more accurate order fulfillment.
“The addition of the XME Laser Cutter underscores our commitment to growth and innovation,” Caldwell Plant COO Tyson Philippi said. “This machine not only enhances our production capabilities but also reinforces our promise to deliver exceptional products and services to our customers faster than ever before.”
As Caldwell continues to expand its operations, the integration of advanced tools like the XME Laser Cutter demonstrates their focus on leveraging technology to meet evolving customer needs.
